A Poem: London's Protests - 07/06/2020

London your heart beat so loudly this week
Your people united as one to speak
We marched, we sang, we danced, we chanted
Justice for the fallen was vehemently demanded.
Our feet are heavy and our voices weak
But a fire is roaring amongst your streets.
While protests are the beginning of change and not the end
We will be the torch bearers of this re-ignited flame,
Which till death we will defend.
We ask that this passion may never burn out
Instead, that monumental change be brought about
Let our voices be heeded
May they never be deleted!
‘But let justice roll on like a river,
Righteousness like a never failing stream’ - Amos 5:24
