As some of you may know, I am temporarily living in Colchester while I attend university. Last year, I stumbled into Red Lion Books on the high street, and the owner was so helpful in helping me find a book for myself and a friend of mine.
Fast forward a year, and I remembered the store when thinking of alternatives to large cooperate bookstores. I went in there, explaining the project and picking up a few popular titles. Jo and I had a lovely conversation about the Black Lives Matter movement, with her explaining how she had been educating herself on her own privilege using Layla Saad's "Me and White Supremacy". She asked me questions where her knowledge had holes, and was so kind to support the project and even gifted me two books as a donation!
If you want to donate a book to the project, and live in or around Colchester, Red Lion Books are giving 20% off any books being bought to donate to Maja's Education Project! This contribution is so so generous, and just one of the many reasons we should all buy from independent book stores.
If you're not local to Colchester, take a look at their website! You can purchase online too.
Thank you Red Lion Books for your constant support and contributions to our progress, we love you guys!
