Say His Name: A poem written after the murder of George Floyd

George Floyd, say his name.

Should not take another black life to question basic human rights.

Never stop saying his name.

If you’re white and you don’t use your privilege to promote anti racism, you’re to blame.

George Floyd.

A black man mistakenly taken,

But it wasn’t a mistake, just plain,

RACISM.

Say. His. Name.

George Floyd.

Why is racism such a taboo?

Talk about it.

A group of black men shouldn’t scare you!

Fear, should be looking at a group of white men.

The colour of their skin, means ALL power is automatically given!

George Floyd.

Killed by a white man, right winged, bigoted, racist!

Call him out refuse to sit and resist.

Use your voice to give him a voice!

Say his name,

Keep saying his name,

George Floyd.

White people are to blame!

Shut racism down, every time.

Don’t sit passive and ignore, this should be more of a crime, than having black skin.

George Floyd.

Stop listening to the lies told to you by your kin.

Open YOUR eyes, look beyond race and see every persons face,

Take them for who they are, not what that white man has told you they are.

Say no to racism, you raise the bar,

Don’t be scared to tell someone when they’ve gone too far.

George Floyd.

Say his name.

George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd. George Floyd.

“I can’t breathe”

George Floyd.

George Floy-

George F-

Georg-

Geor-

NEVER STOP SAYING HIS NAME!

Because now he can’t say his name.
