Who Are These Makers?

Have you ever come across something that inspired you? It could be artwork or a line from a book you've read over someone's shoulder on the tube (in a non-creepy way of course). I come across things that inspire me all the time. But I'm mainly inspired by words. However, I find time is always running away from me. So I started a bunch of lists to keep track of these future research interests. Whilst, these lists are useful for me to review when I have time, I think they could serve a greater purpose beyond my phone. So, I thought this blog could be a useful way to share some of the people, places, authors, thinkers etc I've come across. Especially Black people, who've done (and continue to do) amazing things which aren't always highlighted in public spaces - specifically in museums, art galleries and other cultural spaces.

In this blog series, I'll be discussing Black artists, creatives and historians, I've come across so far. After a brief intro outlining who they are, I'll explain how their craft inspires me. As well as signposting where you can find their work with an emphasis on digital spaces due to Covid-19.

Stay tuned for my next blog post, while I think about who has inspired me most recently...
